Eagle Point - Summer Rental

Step back in time and enjoy the slow island pace at Eagle Point on Little Cranberry Island. Built in 1902, this classic, single-style cottage commands a panoramic view of Mount Desert Island stretching from the Western Way to East Bunker’s Ledge.
A stone’s throw from the beach, the gambrel-roofed cottage is a period piece. The house is furnished with original Arts & Crafts furnishings. An extensive library offers reading matter from a wide selection of Maine authors from New Yorker essayist E.B. White to Sutton’s Island poet Rachel Field.

In the kitchen, the electric range is new and the updated refrigerator ample. For coffee drinkers, a coffeemaker, drip glass carafe and coffee bean grinder are provided. A microwave oven is also available.
The house has five bedrooms. The enormous master bedroom, with a double bed, affords sweeping views of northern and western Mount Desert Island. The other two double bedrooms and two singles are furnished with twin beds. All bed linens are provided throughout the tenants’ stay. For children, a secret door in a closet makes for intrigue and entertainment.
Eagle Point has three bathrooms. The clawfoot bathtubs are all fitted with shower hoops.
From the Islesford town dock, Eagle Point is a seven-minute walk via a woodland path. A garden cart is provided for ferrying groceries to and from the dock and island store.
The rent is $2,000 per week. No smoking permitted.

Watch the sunset over the harbor from the warm and cozy glassed-in porch or spend a lazy hour in the hammock out back.

Built in 1913, the house retains most of its original details, including cypress wood throughout, hard wood floors and many other lovely details.

It is walking distance to the town dock(s), the post office / general store, the neighborhood house / library, and the sand beach. House includes a garden cart and washer and dryer, plus a laundry line for a "greener" rental experience.

"The Colonel's" Harbor View Summer Rental
